What unites SWAN members?
SWAN members are active in Switzerland in a wide variety of fields. This enables an exciting and versatile exchange and offers an enriching network.
SWAN members are graduates or students from the fields of nutritional science, nutrition and dietetics, ecotrophology, food science, nutritional medicine or related fields of study with a degree / specialization in nutrition and work according to scientific standards.
SWAN members have at least 3 years of education at a university, college or university of applied sciences. The degrees sought or achieved are Diploma, Bachelor (BSc) or Master (MSc).
SWAN is open to all professionals with a degree (diploma, BSc, MSc) in a natural science discipline related to nutrition, food and/or health, who have also acquired a specialization in nutritional sciences (at least 60 ECTS credits or equivalent continuing education) or have professional experience in these areas.
Students in training benefit from special conditions. Upon successful completion, a student membership turns into a regular membership.
Students and graduates of the following institutions or with the following degrees are entitled to become members of the association:
BFH: BSc Ernährung und Diätetik, MSc Ernährung und Diätetik, MSc Life Sciences – Food, Nutrition and Health*
ETH Zürich: MAS in Nutrition and Health
ETH Zürich: MSc Lebensmittelwissenschaften mit Major in Nutrition and Health*
FFHS: BSc Ernährung und Diätetik
HES: BSc Ernährung und Diätetik
* admission requirement: (intended) Master Thesis in the field of nutrition
Upon proof of appropriate qualifications outside of the courses and degrees listed here, membership of SWAN is also possible by applying "sur dossier" and presenting the relevant certificates. Please contact us individually.
Status: December 2020, subject to change. The Board of SWAN periodically revises the admission requirements for students and graduates of various courses of study and reserves the right to adjust this information regularly.
